John and Jijad

19 May saw almost 100 people (JAEP supporters and 2017 Diocesan pilgrims) gather at Norwich Cathedral to celebrate the 10th anniversary of JAEP. Bishop Graham our patron spoke about the project during the service. Followed by supper in the refectory and presentations in The Weston Room. Beginning with a film about the background to and impact of The Balfour Declaration on 2 November 1917.

JAEP celebrates 10 years

Derek James writes 'How Father John's legacy continues in Jerusalem. John had been on a three-month sabbatical with a Quaker organization helping vulnerable communities, monitoring and reporting human rights issues. He had told me at the time: “Imagine living in Wymondham and not being allowed to go to school or work in Norwich. Just imagine.”

Within his role he found he had the opportunity to live and volunteer in Dheisheh Palestinian Refugee Camp, the largest of the three camps in Bethlehem with more than 13,000 residents of whom half are under aged under 24.

JAEP becomes an independent charity

We are thrilled to announce that on 28 November 2016 JAEP became an independent charity. Our charity number is 1170414. We will of course still be able to claim gift aid on all applicable donations.

We are very appreciatiative of all the help and support we have received from YMCA Norfolk since JAEP began in January 2007. We have held a bank account within YMCA Norfolk since we began, this has enabled us to claim over £15,000 in gift aid since 2007

Christmas 2016 card sales

Little Donkey

The sale of Christmas cards in 2016 raised over £800. Huge thanks to all our supporters who bought cards. We sold over 4440 cards, all of which really helps to raise the profile of JAEP.
