Anne returns to Dheisheh & Al Quds University from 1 to 12 November 2014

Al Quds University gate

Anne is returning to Dheisheh & Al Quds University from 1 to 12 November & will stay at both places. Anne said 'I'm looking forward very much to my sixth visit to Dheisheh and third to Al Quds. This visit will see the first time I have stayed at the university, instead of visiting from Dheisheh in Bethlehem. Because of the boundary between Israel & Palestinian Territories a journey that, if a direct route was possible, would take 15/20 mins takes well over an hour, there is also a checkpoint very near to the university.

JAEP financially supports another four young people from Dheisheh to study at Al Quds University

From September JAEP has financially supported another four young people living in Dheisheh to study at Al Quds University.

Young people from Dheisheh were invited by Al Quds to apply for JAEP sponsorship. Following a shortlisting process and interview by Skype, four were successful.

St. Giles Parish Church generous donations

Edmund and Anne Aves visited St. Giles on 22 June to talk about JAEP. Edmund delivered his first very well received talk.

Norwich Cathedral sponsors a young person from Dheisheh Camp

Anne & Naba at Al Quds April 2013

Many thanks from JAEP to Norwich Cathedral for funding Naba Zahran who lives in Dheisheh Camp for the duration of her degree course. Naba completed her degree in Physics a year early thanks to the funding received.

She graduated in June 2013 with an excellent evaluation from all her tutors, (her final semester average was an impressive 95.8%!) and has now started her postgraduate studies also in Physics at Al Quds University. Norwich Cathedral has sponsored the first year of this too.
