JAEP is hosting a talk with the Right Reverend Graham James, Bishop of Norwich, in conversation about the Middle East with Ben Bradshaw MP

The John Aves Educational Project (JAEP) looks forward to welcoming you at 6.30 pm on 7 June to join the Right Reverend Graham James, Bishop of Norwich, in conversation about the Middle East with Ben Bradshaw MP for Exeter.

Visit the Bishop’s garden from 6.30 pm, the conversation will start at 7:30 pm. This will take place at Granary Court, Bishop’s House, St Martin-at-Palace Plain, Norwich NR3 1SB.

Ben Bradshaw has links with Norfolk, his father was a Canon and Vice Dean at Norwich Cathedral. Ben worked as a journalist on the EDP in the mid 80s, before moving from print to radio and joining the BBC, first for Radio Exeter and then as radio correspondent in Berlin at the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Ben became a reporter on BBC Radio 4 World at One until becoming Labour MP for Exeter in 1997. Ben has held various government posts including in 2001 a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Foreign Office. During this time Ben spoke to Parliament of the situation in the Middle East. Ben is often on the panel of BBC Radio 4 ‘Any Questions’ and BBC 1 ‘Question Time’.

Right Reverend Graham James, Bishop of Norwich is well known to us all since becoming our Bishop in 1999. Bishop Graham and his wife have kindly opened their garden and Granary Court for our fundraising evening. Bishop Graham as the Church of England lead spokesperson on media issues is called on to articulate a response to world events including the Middle East. Bishop Graham is the Patron of JAEP and has always been a huge encourager and supporter for our project.

Both Bishop Graham and Ben Bradshaw knew John well. Do join us for an evening of stimulating conversation held in a stunning location.

Tickets are £5 to include light refreshments and a glass of wine. Tickets are available from Norwich Cathedral shop and in the Forum at MINT part of City College Norwich. The event is sponsored by Waitrose. JAEP is affiliated to YMCA Norfolk.

There is no parking at the venue, nearest parking is the Adam & Eve carpark
